Sao Paulo, Brazil, 22 - 25 July 2019

The European Ramp Inspection programme started many years ago (1996) as a voluntary inspection programme and was initiated by the Directors General of the European NAAs. They decided on its inception within the framework of an ECAC initiative. Under the management of the European Commission and EASA, the programme has evolved into a very successful global programme.

Through this workshop ANAC Brazil was presented with an up-to-date overview of the European RI programme. The attendees were 14 inspectors of ANAC Brazil.

The first three days were dedicated to introducing, in full detail, the SAFA programme and consisted of
the following elements:
• Introduction to SAFA Program
• Inspections Procedure
• SAFA Guidance Material
• SAFA Database and Access by Local CAAs and Operators
• Inspections Management
• Practical Analysis of Discrepancies

The 4th and last day consisted of practical training on an aircraft in a maintenance facility. It was intended that the 4th day would be an OJT at a nearby airport. However, given the large group of trainees and the unavailability of a suitable and sufficient aircraft for the OJT, it was replaced by a practical training.
